The Meldoniumgate
After the striking confession of tennis player Maria Sharapova early this month, it has been known that more than 60 athletes, have tested positive this year for meldonium.
This substance addressed to heart patients was included on WADA’s banned list early this year. Since January 1st, WADA has found over 60 cases of meldonium positives, although the most famous is the case of Maria Sharapova, who admitted that she had been using this substance since 2006 under medical prescription, and she was unaware of its inclusion on the list.
