China expects to be among top football teams by 2050

China’s National Development and Reform Commision announced last month a plan to be a world leading soccer team by 2050.

The plan is divided into three phases, being the first one the foundation of soccer by 2020. In the forthcoming years, from 2021 to 2030, the country expects soccer to grow and become an important engine in the country’s sport. The last phase intends to transform China into worldwide soccer superpower.
