The AFC wants the member associations to remain independent

Declarations from the Asian Football Confederation say that the member associations need to remain independent of third-party influence. The reason for this statement is the punishment these associations are suffering for actions that go beyond their control.

External interference from governments into internal affairs in the Members Associations, is damaging the development of these associations in terms of fundings and income. This loss, together with the presence of third-party intervention prevents them from growing.
