CAS rejects Essendon appeal
The appeal lodged by 34 Essendon players early this year, against the decision of Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority on the suspension for doping, has been rejected by CAS.
All of them were suspended by ASADA after being found responisble of the use of a prohibited substance, Thymosin Beta 4. As the players involved did not formally impugned CAS‘s jurisdiction, the Court’s decision keeps in force the sanction of two years out of competition from 31st March 2015 until 30th March 2017.
ASADA has welcomed the decision, declaring that this is a step forward in the global fight against doping in sport.
